According to reports, at least 30 Reform UK candidates have made it clear they do not believe climate change is a concern.
Climate Change “A Bit of a Hoax”
One candidate in particular has insisted that climate change is “a bit of a hoax”, echoing the rhetoric of American politicians such as Donald Trump.
Speaking in Southampton
The candidate, John Edwards, spoke at an event in his constituency of Southampton about the issue at the forefront of many voters’ minds.
Reform Candidate’s Controversial Take
Edwards claimed that he was not a believer in climate change and would not prioritise it in his election campaign.
No Climate Emergency?
According to Edwards, the Reform candidate is “one of those who don’t really think there is a climate emergency as such.”
“Just a Change in the Weather”
“I can put my hand on my heart and say this is just a change in the weather, my friends,” the Reform UK candidate insisted.
Using Climate Change to Raise Taxes
Edwards went on to claim that the government only uses climate change as an excuse to raise taxes on the public.
Raising Green Levies
Edwards claimed, “I think climate change is a bit of a hoax. It is a good excuse for governments to raise taxes. Tax you and me. Raise green levies.”
Edwards Not in the “Real World”
The Liberal Democrats candidate spoke shortly after, mocking Edwards by insisting he did not live in the “real world.”
Reform’s Thoughts on Climate Change
Edwards is one of 30 Reform candidates who have made a statement about not believing in climate change, showing the Party’s consensus on the matter.
Tory MP Booted Out
Former Tory MP Lee Anderson, who switched allegiance to Reform after being kicked out of the Conservative Party, also had his say on climate change.
Coal as a “Sustainable” Energy Source
Anderson claimed that the fossil fuel coal is a “sustainable” energy source, and “odd weirdos” believed otherwise.

Anderson is the Party’s only MP and was welcomed by the former leader of Reform UK after his Islamophobic rant about Sadiq Kahn.
Tice’s Views on Global Warming
These claims echoed that of the Party’s former leader, Richard Tice, who claimed that reducing our carbon footprint could not solve the global heating issue.
Farage’s Support for Trump
Tice was later replaced by current leader Nigel Farage, who is a public supporter of climate change denier and US Presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Farage Spotted at Trump Fundraiser
Farage was recently spotted at a fundraising event for the former President that took place in London, and also offered his questionable views on Trump’s rhetoric.
Comparing Farage and Trump
Farage recently claimed that he and Trump were “very different” but admitted they “think the same on many things.”

“He’s learned quite a lot from me, I think it goes both ways … He was watching my speeches in the European Parliament for many years … before he decided to run,” Farge claimed.
