The Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer, has admitted that he sympathises with the Prime Minister after a Reform campaigner’s racial attack.

Despite the two Parties’ differences, Sir Starmer has revealed that he felt sorry for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after he was racially abused.
Sunak’s “Powerful” Response
Starmer has also pointed out that Sunak’s response to the racial abuse was “powerful” after the Prime Minister brought his daughters into the equation.
Reform UK Racism in Spotlight
The comments were made by a campaigner who was volunteering for Nigel Farage’s Party, Reform UK, and Starmer turned his attention to the Party leader.
Starmer Feels Sorry for Sunak
Sir Starmer was asked about his position on the matter, and when asked whether he felt sorry for Sunak, he responded, “I do.”
Praising Rival’s Response
Starmer praised Sunak’s response, “I thought what he said about his daughters in particular was very powerful and I’m glad he said it,” he said.

Sir Keir Starmer admitted that he shared Sunak’s “disgust at the comments that were made,” after commenting on Farage’s leadership.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage refused to apologise for the comments, although he admitted they were “horrible”.

Farage also insisted the whole thing was a “set up” by the media after Channel 4 went undercover to record the racist rant.
Starmer Turns on Farage
Sir Starmer insisted that Farage is responsible for the comments and has not responded as a Party leader should.

“I don’t think he has shown the leadership he should’ve shown. There’s no good condemning remarks after the event,” Starmer said.

Starmer went on to say how it’s a leader’s job to shape the culture of a political Party, and Farage’s party is being accused of attracting racist behaviour.

Starmer said, “If you lead a party you set the tone, and the culture, and the standards of your party,” before finalising his criticism.
