Reform UK’s former leader has accused the Conservatives of corruption as yet another Reform candidate defected to the Party.
Tice Slams Tory Party
Richard Tice, the former leader of Reform UK, has given his reason as to why Reform candidates are switching to the struggling Conservative Party.
Second Reform Candidate Makes Switch
Recently, Georgie David became the second Reform candidate to switch to the Conservative Party, adding to Tice’s woes.
Tice Slams Conservatives
Tice has taken to social media to slam the Conservative Party, arguing that they have corrupted the former Reform member.
“Desperate Corruption”
According to Tice, the defection shows “more desperate corruption by the Tories”.
Tice Alleges Tory Bribes
Tice accused the Conservatives of bribing Georgie David with a safe seat as an MP in return for switching to the Party.
Offering Candidates “Safe Seats”
Tice posted, “What jobs and safe seats have toxic Tories offered this candidate? As they have with many others.”
More to the Story?
Tice accused the Tories of using the same press release as the previous Reform candidate who defected, implying that the defection wasn’t solely David’s idea.
“Dirty Tricks Central”
Tice said, “Note same press release language … coordinated by dirty tricks central, CCHQ Voters delighted to oust these Tories.”
Reform’s Reputation at Stake
The reasoning behind David’s defection to the Conservative Party has done nothing to improve Reform’s reputation after a tough couple of weeks.
Racism as David’s Reason
David claimed that her reason for defecting was related to alleged racism and bigotry from her fellow candidates at Reform UK.
“Racist, Misoginistic and Bigoted”
According to David, she left the Party because the “majority” of Reform candidates were “racist, misogynistic and bigoted”.
Farage Takes Over
Recently, Nigel Farage became Reform’s new leader, taking over the position from Richard Tice and causing a stir in the political field.
Reform’s Record Performance
Farage, former leader of the Brexit Party, played a vital role in the rise of the Reform Party in this election as the Party hit record numbers in the polls.
A Loss of Fortune
However, despite the Party overtaking the Conservatives in a YouGov poll in June, Farage’s good fortune hit a bump in the road.
Trouble for Farage
After a few gaffes from the Party leader and a racist rant from a Reform UK campaigner, Reform’s popularity is heading back down.
Farage Blames West for Ukraine War
Farage’s first gaffe involved blaming the West for the war in Ukraine, which riled up some of the country’s right-wing voters.
Reform Campaigner’s Racist Rant
Shortly after, a Reform campaigner, Andrew Parker, was caught on camera making racist remarks about the Prime Minister.
Parker’s Controversial Views on Immigration
Parker also suggested that migrants looking to cross the Channel should be shot by the British Army.
Reform’s Fall From Grace
This resulted in the Party’s drop in popularity, with a YouGov poll showing the Party move down to 17% despite Farage’s promise to tighten his grip on racists within Reform.
The Future of Reform
Richard Tice’s rant that the Conservatives are tapping up Reform candidates will appeal to the conspiracy theorists and will not help Farage remove the “bad apples” from the Party.
