Tory Donor Under Fire
The Tories have been under fire recently after an underwhelming response to the Party’s largest donor who made racist and violent comments towards Labour’s Diane Abbott.
Previous Financial Sanctions
This latest fine marks the largest penalty imposed on the Conservative Party since December 2021 when a £17,800 penalty was issued for inaccuracies in donation reports.

Hester’s Racist Comments
Frank Hester allegedly said during a meeting in 2019 that Abbott made him “want to hate all black women” adding he thought she “should be shot.”
Sunak’s Underwhelming Response
Rishi Sunak responded by accepting Hester’s “remorse” after Hester admitted that what he said was “rude” although failed to acknowledge that his comments were racist.
Observations From UK Liberal Democrat Leader
UK Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey suggested that Rishi Sunak appears to have “already given up” after the latest donation revelation.
Mordaunt In Line
There have been rumours that Sunak is on the verge of being ousted by his own party, with Penny Mordaunt allegedly the favourite to become a “care-taker” Prime Minister.
