Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman has slammed the “Liberal Conservatives” for not doing enough to win the election.
Braverman Hits Out
Suella Braverman has lashed out at certain members of her own Party after the general election defeat to Labour.
An Explanation
Speaking at an event in Washington DC, USA, Braverman explained why she thinks the Conservatives lost the election.
“Liberal Conservatives”
The former Home Secretary attacked those in the Conservative Party who she believes are “Liberal Conservatives.”
Not Doing Enough
At the National Conservative Conference in the US, Braverman accused her Party of not doing enough to prevent the “lunatic woke virus”.
A 2019 Majority
Braverman said, “We won a great majority in 2019 promising to do what the people wanted,” before outlining the Party’s targets back in 2019.
Failing on Promises
Braverman insisted that the Party had originally planned to tackle illegal migration, high taxes and the “woke” agenda before making an admission.
“We Did None of This”
“We were going to use our Brexit freedoms and stop waves of illegal migrants. We were going to cut taxes. We were going to stop the lunatic woke virus. We did none of this,” she said.
Blaming Themselves
“Our problem is us. Our problem is that the liberal Conservatives who trashed the Tory party think it was everyone’s fault but their own,” Braverman claimed.
“Governed by Liberals”
Braverman accused her Party of being “governed by liberals” while admitting they only had themselves to blame for the defeat.
Criticising the Pride Flag
It’s unclear which members of the Conservative Party are classed as “liberals” to Braverman, but she criticised them for waving the LGBTQ flag.
Progressive Tories
Braverman said her Party members waving a pride flag was too much to bear. She accused them of being too progressive to be Conservatives.
Opinion on Pride Flag
“[What] The Progress flag says to me is one monstrous thing,” Braverman began to say.
Braverman Shocks Crowd
Braverman went on to announce her shockingly controversial thoughts about what she thinks the Pride flag means to her Party.
Slamming LGBTQ Community
She claimed that Conservatives waving the pride flag showed her that she “was a member of a government that presided over the mutilation of children in our hospitals and from our schools.”
Braverman Sacked
Braverman was sacked from her position as Home Secretary by former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, whose campaign suffered a heavy defeat in the election.
“Hate Marches” Comments
Back in Autumn last year, Sunak sacked Braverman for her comments on pro-Palestine protests, which she referred to as “hate marches.”
Tensions Rising in London
Her comments exacerbated protests from the far right in London and brought violence to the streets as tensions were already at a knife’s edge.
Braverman Wins Seat
This election, both Braverman and Sunak won seats in their constituencies, but it wasn’t enough to fight off a massive Labour majority.
Braverman Sweeps Competition
Braverman won the seat for her constituency of Fareham and Waterlooville by a majority of 6000.
Braverman’s Thoughts on Sunak’s Policies
Braverman disagreed with Sunak on many issues, including immigration, suggesting that his Rwanda policy would “not work”. Labour has now scrapped the scheme.
Traditional Tory Rebuild
The Tory Party will have to rebuild itself on traditional Conservative values if it is to establish a public following again,in which Braverman will possibly play a significant parn.
