Former Russian President Medvedev issued a grave warning to Britain and Germany after the two countries suggested ramping up support for Ukraine by potentially sending troops to the conflict.
Britain “Taken a Lead” on Training Ukrainians
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak admitted, “People will know for a long time that we’ve been training Ukrainian citizens and soldiers,” before adding, “We’ve been doing that here in Britain, we’ve taken a lead on that and lots of other countries have joined our effort and it’s making a huge difference. We will continue to do that.”
A Game Changer in the Making
British Defense Minister Grant Shapps hinted at a strategic shift, discussing plans to relocate their soldiers’ military training and weapon production closer to Ukrainian territory, “I was talking today about eventually getting the training brought closer and actually into Ukraine,” he said.
Russia’s Grim Warning
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued a grim warning, stating that if British soldiers were involved in training Ukrainian forces, they would become “legal targets” for Russia’s military.
German Factories Caught in the Crossfire
Medvedev also cautioned Germany against arming Ukraine with Taurus missiles, explicitly stating that German factories producing these missiles could become targets for Russian strikes.
Russia “Compliant” to Strike Germany
Medvedev argued that striking German factories would be “Compliant with international law” in a stark warning that would see NATO countries intervene.

Sunak then played down the comments by Shapps to avoid any worry of conflict, saying that these plans are “something for the long term, not the here and now.”
British Soldiers Won’t Be Going Anywhere
Sunak asserted that the British soldiers wouldn’t be at risk of war any time soon, “There are no British soldiers that will be sent to fight in the current conflict,” he confirmed.
